  • Will you cover medical costs for me and the baby?

Yes. If there is a completed adoption, we will cover medical costs unless you have insurance.

  • What is the definition of an open adoption?

The definition of open adoption is different among agencies, people, and authorities.

Our meaning of open adoption is the sharing of any information between the adoptive and birth parents.

There are no agency or state regulations restricting the contact between adoptive and biological parents. All face-to-face contact after placement is based on the trust and developing relationships between the biological and adoptive parents.

  • Does the birth father have to agree to the adoption?

We must make every attempt to contact the birth father and offer counseling about his child’s future and the mother’s plan of adoption.

In most cases, the father cooperates with the agency and allows the mother to proceed with the adoption plan.

Sometimes, the parents work together to plan for their child’s future.

In other cases, the father is not cooperative and a legal process must be followed to ensure a secure permanent adoption.

The responsibility of handling issues with the birth father lies with us and our staff.

We employ a male staff person who is usually successful in helping the father feel comfortable enough to understand his options.
