On December 12th, we had our 17th annual client celebration. This year, we hosted 102 young women who had completed an adoption plan
with AIM sometime during the past 19 years.and women who were currently pregnant and working toward a permanent plan of adoption for
their unborn child. It was overwhelming to us to see all of these beautiful faces enjoy each other's company. Many women brought friends
or family members. It was a blast!
The "free" garage sale was the biggest yet! We had been collecting household items, toys, Christmas decorations, books, and clothing for
months. Clients carried home tons of items. Everyone loves a garage sale and ours is the best kind.everything is free!
The highlight of the party is always the rob-your-neighbor game. The game is a real ice-breaker. We had so many participants (clients
only) that we had to divide the party up into four parts. Jan & Bette ran one group, Malinda & Lana ran group two, Anne & Toby took charge
of group 3, and the fourth group was handled by Denise and Kelly. Before long, each group was trying to out-do each other in riotous
banter. The gifts were all courtesy of our adoptive families and included bath lotion sets, TVs, CD players, and even a cell phone or two.
We had two people that we were especially happy to see. Dee attended even though she was recuperating from heart bypass surgery and
Ginny stopped by to say hello. Some of you may remember Ginny from about 10 years ago. She now works for Harris County
Sherriff's Department but has obviously never forgotten her days as support staff for us.
Our party is all fun.with an underlying benefit. We use it as an excuse to keep in touch with our clients..to let them know we still care
and that we are still a resource for them. Enjoy the pictures.it was a party to remember.
